You may remember that virus my family got the last week of January. Well, the day before we all got that nasty bug, I took a test. What kind of test? One where you pee on a stick!
And I passed it!
So that is why it took me longer than a week to get back to blogging regularly. Once the sickness passed, morning sickness and early pregnancy fatigue took over.
So why on earth was I panicking for the last few days?
I went to the ob for my first prenatal visit on Tuesday this week. Everything went well, they even tried to listen for the heart beat. They couldn't hear one(which is normal at 10 weeks- how far along I am at this point). I wasn't worried then. But while she was examining me,she declared that I was measuring a month or so bigger than I should. She asked if I was sure of my last period. I am positive of it- and not being able to hear the heart beat yet reinforces it(at 12 weeks you should be able to hear it).
So her other explanation (her thinking out loud) for the larger size of my uterus was possibly twins! She told the receptionist to schedule my ultrasound ASAP. That happened to be 2 days later. So I waited very impatiently for today to come so I could find out if there was a problem or more than one baby.
Here is what we saw
Just one cute little 2 in baby, nothing more! What a relief. Sure having twins would be kind of neat, but I don't think I am cut out for the double dose of infancy:) You ladies who do have multiples deserve a prize for being able to handle, or at least cope with the early years!
Our 3rd little one will be joining us Mid-September. Our daughter is so excited and of course she is hoping for a little sister since she already has a baby brother. She wanted a boy when I was pregnant with him, so maybe she has some sort of intuition about these things, lol!

Wow this is so exciting. Congrats!!!!!!!!!!! I don't have any kids myself, although i'd love to have one, trying to get through school so best to wait. I've seen so many of my coupon blogging buddies get pregnant and having babies. I have to admit i'm alittle jealous. But I hope all will go super smooth for ya'all.

Tosha,

Whoo hoo... now you can start stockpiling!
Congrats!!! I figured that was what you were worried about. Twins sounds like fun but too much work for me. Here's hoping the 1st trimester yucks pass quickly.
It is such a great news. Congratulations! Are you going to find out whether the baby is a boy or girl before September? Wow, three kids. My husband and I are trying to have a baby. Do you have any advices?
Lee W.- waiting to finish school is a great idea, you wouldn't want you schooling to detract from the baby or vice versa
coco- yes we will find out:) if you are asking for tips conceiving, the best one I know of is to relax and enjoy the process with you hubby- easier said than done I know

Thanks for all the congrats! I'm almost through m/s as long as I eat frequently , i'm ok:)
I knew it! After reading your post yesterday I had a feeling you were pregnant. The same thing happened to me, I went in for my first appointment and I was measuring big so they did an ultrasound. Thing is, I thought maybe I was further along than I thought (since the last period was weird). So I wasn't even thinking twins! But then we got in there and had the shock of our life, two! They're now almost 2 years old and I've survived so far. Congratulations!
That is Awesome!!! Congrats!!! Maybe one of these days I'll be blessed with the opportunity to join the ranks of you "mommy"bloggers. LOL :)
Congratulations! I am really happy for you guys.
Congrats on your pregnancy!!!!!!! Hope the morning sickness gets better.

Congratulations! Glad everything is ok. Here's to a family of 5! ;)
wow! this exact thing happened to us last year, except we had to wait a week before finding out it was just one little guy:) then they told us he had a single umbilical artery, which is more common in down's syndrome babies and babies with heart/respiratory/brain defects. they recommended against an amnio because i was 20 weeks and we had to wait until the little guy was born in oct. to find out that he was perfectly healthy:) congrats to you and your family on your super exciting news:)
Congrats Tosha!!! It seems like just yesterday that I had my ultrasound & found out that I was having twins, and now they are 5 year old!
