Recently I got the nesting bug, so I was not too shocked about my appointment today. I went in for an ultrasound, Non Stress Test (NST), and a visit with the doctor to discuss the impending c-section.
He insist a VBAC is like suicide and he isn't willing to help someone do that(Yes, he is nuts). When I asked what the risk of trouble(uterine rupture/death) is with VBAC he said 1%. I almost laughed in his face but I remained straight faced. I don't really feel like fighting or finding a new doctor at this point so I will follow the very goofy doctors orders.(This conversation was last week)
Any way, back to todays appointment. My ultrasound looked great. Baby has tons of hair, and tons of chubbiness! She is measuring in the 84% and weighs approximately 6.5lbs. The size prediction using ultrasound can be off by a few pounds, but I think the technician who did mine is pretty darn good at her job. She is the same one who did my ultrasound with my last child. 14hrs before he was born she said he was 9lb 3oz and he was actually 9lb 1oz.
The thickening at the back of the neck is very small now, but I will most likely request a chromosomal test on her once she is born to ease my mind. That is unless it is very apparent she does have Turner's or Down's syndrome at birth. From all the u/s I have had done I don't think it will be obvious if she does.
Face Pics
After the u/s I was supposed to see the doctor to finish setting the c-section date. Unfortunately, he was out delivering two babies at two different hospitals so I saw the nurse.
Before seeing the nurse I had my NST. The baby was very active(she always is). I also had 5 contractions in the 20-30 minutes I was hooked up to the machine. Over the weekend I just thought the baby was trying to stretch out-LOL! They were very regular so the nurse checked my cervix. I am a finger tip open and thick. I was told to lay down on my side and drink water if the contractions persist. Between 35 weeks and 37 weeks the hospital will try to stop labor(though not very hard), but after 37 weeks they wont.
So now my urge to clean/declutter and stock up is 10x greater than before. I still have so much to do this week to get ready for school and get ready for baby. I also haven't even started on buying school supplies for the school district with the gift card Meijer provided.
I still need a name for this kiddo too! I am being stubborn and insisting on an "I" first name and an "A" middle name. Every name I come up with my husband criticizes but he has no suggestions:( If you have some I would be more than happy to "hear " them! The name "Isabella" is off the table though. We have a niece who is already named that.

I have absolutely no baby name advice! I'll keep you and your little one in my prayers until this is over. How strange that he won't let you do a VBAC. The great thing about a c-section is no burst blood vessels around your eyes from pushing! Those after-the-fact pictures will look great! God bless!
You are so right--the doc is being ridiculous. But, the main thing is: that little girl sure does look healthy and gorgeous!
As for those names--I've looked up a list online--however would one pronounce most of them! :-)
I do like "Imelda" and "Ilyse" and "Ingrid" and "Irene" and "Ivanna"
For A names, I like "Alessandra" "Alexandra" "Alexandrea" "Abagail" "Adalie" "Adaline" "Agnes" "Ailisa" "Aleisa" "Alese" "Alisa" "Alexis" "Alicia" "Allena"Andrea" "Angela" "Angelica" "Angelique" "Angelina" "Anne" "Anita" "Antoinette" "Anya" "Arianna" "Ariel" "Amanda"
I have no name advice as we still can't decide. I have my 35 week appt tomorrow, I can't wait to see if I have dilated more. I was 1 almost 2 a few weeks ago.
That's a bummer he is acting that way about the VBAC.
I hope everything goes well and you get your shopping done. I'm going to second the middle name Alexandra. It's my middle name and I went by Alex as nickname for a long time I've always loved it.
Here are a few "I" names; Ilena, Iesha, Iris, Isadora, Isolde (like Tristan and Isolds), Ivory and Ivy.
I am not sure about "A" names because there are so many and I always like to choose the first name first to see how it goes together. Good luck though. That stinks about the VBAC. I tried one the last time but it wasn't successful because they induced me which I shouldn't have let happen. The baby was 6 days late. But, I had too much scar tissue anyway. I am now 9 wks and am going to have a c-section, I was glad I gave the VBAC a shot though. I wonder why he didn't state his opinion sooner? Anyhow good luck on whatever you decide.
Babies are so exciting... congratulations on the little one to come!! Choosing a name must be such a hard thing, but there really are a lot of gorgeous "I" names so I'm sure you'll come up with something!
Love the pictures! "I" names I like- Isis, Ivy, Ivory, Iris, Isabeau, India. Good luck getting everything done before the baby arrives!
Thanks for the well wishes and name suggestions. I have a new list started and I am going to try a few combinations out loud to see how I like them.
Girl names are so much harder than boys! My first daughter didn't have a name when I went into labor- we went with the last one I was toying with and my husbands sister suggested the middle name over the phone while I was in labor. The boy had his name picked around 6 months(only took us 4 weeks to decide).
AmberRay- congratulations on the newest pregnancy!
I like Iris, Iliana and Irene.
Good luck with everything.
Just a few family names I thought I could suggest to you: Illiana, Ivy, Ivangeline, and Irelynn (kind of like Ireland), and for middle name: Aundrea, Avelena, and Adrianna. Hope this helps and good luck!
My favorite "I" girl names are Isla (like Isla Fisher) and India (though I see someone already mentioned this one, I just love it).
Not sure of your other kiddos names but I'm big on choosing names that "go" together. If you haven't seen the cool book "The Baby Name Wizard", maybe it would have some suggestions.
As for middles, my daughter is Adelyn, but not sure how it would sound as a middle. I think Alyse ("uh-leese") is a nice middle name.
Good luck with everything!
