Not going to have the deals up

Due to some very stressful news Friday, I am not going to be able to focus on assembling the deals for this week. I may get to Jungle Jim's Monday or Tuesday but can't promise anything.

You can find Kroger and Meijer deals at Nickels-N-Dimes and Drugstore Deals at Hounding with Frugalsuz.
In case I don't get to Jungle Jim's the ad can be found here on Monday.

*****the Meijer and Kroger deals were not up when I posted this. The links will take you to them when she finishes them(right now they take you to last weeks).

Thanks for understanding.

Nothing to Panick about now!

You may remember that virus my family got the last week of January. Well, the day before we all got that nasty bug, I took a test. What kind of test? One where you pee on a stick!

And I passed it!

So that is why it took me longer than a week to get back to blogging regularly. Once the sickness passed, morning sickness and early pregnancy fatigue took over.

So why on earth was I panicking for the last few days?

I went to the ob for my first prenatal visit on Tuesday this week. Everything went well, they even tried to listen for the heart beat. They couldn't hear one(which is normal at 10 weeks- how far along I am at this point). I wasn't worried then. But while she was examining me,she declared that I was measuring a month or so bigger than I should. She asked if I was sure of my last period. I am positive of it- and not being able to hear the heart beat yet reinforces it(at 12 weeks you should be able to hear it).

So her other explanation (her thinking out loud) for the larger size of my uterus was possibly twins! She told the receptionist to schedule my ultrasound ASAP. That happened to be 2 days later. So I waited very impatiently for today to come so I could find out if there was a problem or more than one baby.

Here is what we saw

Just one cute little 2 in baby, nothing more! What a relief. Sure having twins would be kind of neat, but I don't think I am cut out for the double dose of infancy:) You ladies who do have multiples deserve a prize for being able to handle, or at least cope with the early years!

Our 3rd little one will be joining us Mid-September. Our daughter is so excited and of course she is hoping for a little sister since she already has a baby brother. She wanted a boy when I was pregnant with him, so maybe she has some sort of intuition about these things, lol!

Panicking Here

And that is why I haven't done a "real post" the past two days. I'm not even sure I have anything to be concerned about, I will find out tomorrow. Once I get an answer I will be sharing a secret I have been holding onto for a few months now. If you knew me IRL(in real life) you would know how hard it is for me to keep any secret(only my own, I never spill other peoples secrets!). I have been dying to share but was advised to keep quiet a little longer. Check back tomorrow night for the scoop!

Excellence in blogcasting award...

I was taking an unofficial day off from blogging today, due to having a busy and very tiring day, but Mommy Managing gave me this award. If I don't pass it along immediately I know I will forget or put it off until I get too overwhelmed with other things and never do it...

Mommy Managing
and I have exchanged coupons a few times, she gave me 20 FREE Kroger formula coupons, and in return I gave her a few coupons to go with a CVS sale. I say I still owe her BIG TIME! Eventually I will get her back...

On her blog she shares deals for Brookshire's and Kroger and tips for managing your home. Make sure you check her out here!

This award is simple:

1) Post the award on my blog

2) Pass it on to some friends, up to 15

3) I have to let them know they've received the award

I'm going to choose three bloggers(copying Mommy Managing, lol):

1.Tips From a Mom of 3- shares Meijer, Kroger, Cvs, and Walgreens deals along with some other really awesome deals and freebies.

2. Little People Wealth-I learn something new every week from her!

3. Hounding with Frugalsuz - shares the drugstore deals every week. I love when she shows her very full coffee table -she puts all the deals she can't use or has too much off on it and when it's full she donates everything!

Menu Plan Monday 2/23

I am finding menu planning very helpful. I can't figure out why I never stuck with it before. I still don't always make everything on the exact day I "planned" and one meal a week usually doesn't get made at all. It is much better than having a freezer and pantry full of food and having no idea what to cook, though!

Monday- BBQ meat balls, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies

Tuesday-Quinoa Pilaf

Wednesday-Chicken quesadillas

Thursday-beef stew

Friday-Scallops and vegetables

Saturday-leftovers

Sunday-Hearty Bean and Barely Soup

Hang in there!

I am a bit behind on the Jungle Jim's deals. My ad didn't come until late and then we had to search for quite some time for my husband's keys so he could run his errands. I let the baby play with them after getting back from CVS Friday(I had to borrow his because I miss placed mine!). Needless to say, you should not trust me with your keys, unless you really do want them to be missing for a few days! The deals should be up by 10 or 11 tonight, be sure to check back then. I will also be adding a few more deals to the Meijer list and start working on Kroger's.

Product Review: Ecostore Citrus Spray Cleaner and Laundry Liquid

Meijer will be carrying the EcostoreUSA.com brand of products in just a few short weeks. I was lucky enough to try out the Laundry Liquid and Citrus Spray Cleaner.

About EcoStore(from their website)-

ecostore NZ was founded more than 15 years ago by Melanie and Malcolm Rands from their home in an eco village in New Zealand.

All of the families that lived in the farm based eco village shared a commitment to organic growing and healthy living, making this an ideal environment in which a young, environmentally conscious business could thrive. Each household in the village was responsible for their own waste water, which quickly highlighted the problems caused by using regular supermarket cleaning products that relied heavily on cheap, petroleum-based, synthetic ingredients.

Faced with the challenge of protecting the pristine rural waterways of the eco village, Malcolm Rands began to research and seek expert help from scientists to develop household cleaning products using plant-based ingredients that would biodegrade safely and quickly. Achieving his goal, he eliminated the need to use toxic chemicals, leaving the eco villages water pure. His goal was more than accomplished as the product line of this home-based business began to grow, and an exciting future began to unfold.

The original customer base of ecostore NZ was comprised of mostly ‘Greenies’ and organic gardeners. However, it was not long before testimonials from other parents (many of whom were unaware of the benefits of eco-friendly products) began to pour in with wonderful news of their children's allergies and eczema clearing up. Many noted that any respiratory issues were healing, and many lingering chronic conditions were disappearing.

By simply changing to the genuinely clean and green ecostore products, people were experiencing surprising and unexpected improvements in their health. As the notion of using products with “No Nasty Chemicals™” gained popular appeal, ecostore quickly outgrew its location in the Rand’s basement and the business moved to a storefront in Auckland, New Zealand.

My daughter (5 years) has mild asthma, my son (14 months) has mild to moderate eczema and my husband has moderate asthma and eczema. Using as many natural cleaners as I can helps to keep their symptom from flaring up.I usually use the natural varieties of purex and arm and hammer detergents to wash our clothes and I use a mixture of tea tree oil, white vinegar and water to clean our floors. Other than those items, I haven't found cleaning solutions that work well enough to replace the conventional cleaners. That was until I tried these two products from EcostoreUSA.com!

A little about my testing

Citrus Spray Cleaner - I was skeptical this would work on my greasy stove top or my sticky floor. I gave it a try any way since it was available and I had messes to clean. WOW! is all I could think once I finished cleaning up the stove. My stove was clean and I didn't have a headache from the stinky cleaner used to get it that way! I then sprayed some on the sticky juice one of the kids spilled and no one noticed until it had dried(for a few days). I used my swiffer wet jet to mop it up. It came up very easily. Since the pad on the swiffer was already wet I took it over to the muddy door entrance. It got the dried mud up too. I continued to mop the floor until the pad was too dirty to be effective . I only had to spray a few other tough spots with the Citrus Spray Cleaner to finish the floor.

Laundry Liquid- I was pretty sure this product would get my clothes clean from the beginning. I wasn't sure it would take out stains. The first load I did I tossed in a shirt that my little boy wiped ketchup all over. The ketchup had set on it for a few days. I did not rinse or pretreat the stain. When I pulled it out of the washing machine I was very impressed that there wasn't a trace of ketchup left.

The next challenge was my husbands work clothing. He gets a lot of black dust and dirt on him. Normally, he will complain that his work clothes look dingy and I need to use something other than the natural detergents on those. Not with this detergent! I watched as the washer spun out water into our wash tub. Boy was that some filthy water! I also watched the rinse water spin out to compare. The second was much, much more clear.

Pros

Citrus Spray Cleaner
-Very faint, pleasant citrus smell
-Can be used with children underfoot because it has no harsh chemicals
-Cleans grease, dirt, soap scum, sticky messes, and everything else I tried it on with one exception
-Wont cause headaches

Laundry Liquid
-Washes completely clean, leaving no residue
-Gets out tough stains and can be used to pretreat
-Wont cause skin irritation
-Smells nice when it is in the washer

Cons

Citrus Spray Cleaner
-Didn't do as good of a job on mold as bleach containing cleaners

Laundry Liquid
-It smells like a eucalyptus cough drop straight from the bottle(smells good when diluted in washer)
-Doesn't leave scent on clothing(I like a little bit of smell good on my clean clothes)

I will be sharing how you can save some green buying these green products in a week or two so be sure to keep your eyes open. If you can't wait to get these from Meijer, you can order now at EcostoreUSA.com.

Tomorrow...

I will be doing a product review for a new product Meijer will be carrying soon, REALLY SOON. I had planned on getting it up tonight, but after spending the late morning/early afternoon preparing dinner so my husband could pop it in the oven when he got home and then spending the rest of the day at the doctor's office with two small kids (2.5 hours-it always takes this long- that's how I knew to get the lasagna together before I left) I don't have the energy to. Just wanted to let you know, because I really LOVE these products and can't wait to share with all of you!

Oh, and telling you also puts me on the spot so I stop procrastinating, lol.

Note, you will be prompted to register a credit card, which is required to earn future rewards, however, it's not required to get the $5 certificate. After signing up, log into your account, to get access to your $5 certificate.

The certificate is good until 4/30/09. "
